We are looking for a Legal and Compliance Intern, with responsibility for supporting the Legal Team as our company expands. Successful hires kick off with an intense Blockchain HELIX training focused on understanding the legal and compliance strategy of Blockchain HELIX concerning both our users and Merchants. Upon completion, you will have the opportunity to draft legal documents and be involved in the Know-Your-Customer and General Data Protection Regulation compliance of companies from a variety of industries. It’s a great opportunity for a candidate with a law degree or a student in their final stages of legal studies (or a closely related field) to get tangible legal and compliance experience at an international, technology company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Blockchain Helix AG Legal Counsel on the drafting of commercial contracts and other IT related legal documents
  • Shape the Compliance department through research on industry specific Know-Your-Customer and General Data Protection Regulation provisions on a European and national level
  • Utilise design-thinking to help improve the legal experience for our users and Merchants
  • Support in the internal and external training on data privacy compliance
  • Advise on data privacy compliance of projects and business processes and on the associated data protection impact assessments for specific products, roll-outs and projects
  • Support the Legal Team in the development of the local law, technology and business community through engaging online and offline workshops

Strong candidates are expected to have

  • A basic understanding of the blockchain technology is a must
  • A law graduate or a student of law (or a closely-related field) in the final stages of studies
  • Excellent knowledge of German and English (other languages will be an asset)
  • Enthusiasm, reliability and an ability to work independently
  • Excellent computer skills (knowledge of specialised programmes such as InDesign and Photoshop will be an asset)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in project management and/or work experience in international organisations are beneficial
