Commercial Bank Money Token
The Commercial Bank Money Token (CBMT) is a tokenized representation of commercial bank deposits, initiated under the lead of DZ Bank in collaboration with a project group of German banks and industry partners. The CBMT is designed to enable regulated, on-chain settlement using tokenized bank money while maintaining full alignment with existing banking, compliance, and risk frameworks.
Blockchain Helix provides the underlying infrastructure, operating the European Public Network (EPN) as the distributed ledger environment and delivering the wallet technology for secure access, custody, and transaction execution. The EPN enables interoperability, high availability, and enterprise-grade privacy controls, supporting use cases such as Delivery-versus-Payment (DvP), atomic settlement, programmable payments, and intraday liquidity management.
CBMT integrates with existing core banking systems via standardized APIs and supports auditability, identity management, and policy enforcement at protocol level. This architecture allows banks and corporates to leverage blockchain-based settlement efficiencies—near-real-time finality, reduced reconciliation, and automation—without compromising regulatory requirements or operational control.
As infrastructure supplier and wallet provider, Blockchain Helix ensures scalable deployment, cryptographic security, and operational resilience across the CBMT ecosystem, enabling production-grade adoption of tokenized commercial bank money in Europe.
